The August Meeting E-mail
Late August is hot time for teachers. Teachers spend the last days of summer in active preparation for the new school year, arranging meetings at various levels, discussing the latest developments in the educational system. Each year representatives of Tkuma Institute are invited by the organizers to participate in such regional and city meetings. This year was not an exception.
On August 20th, the August regional meeting of the leaders of city and district associations of history, law and social sciences teachers, was held in the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training (DRIATT), with the participation of Dr. Oleksandra Leonova, Tkuma Institute and Museum Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine Head of Research Department.

The subject of the meeting was defined by Lyudmyla Bazylevska, Head of Educational and Methodical Laboratory of Social Sciences of the Department of Humanitarian Education DRIATT and Tkuma Institute associate, as Didactic Potential of Implementation of the Latest Trends in the Teaching Historical and Social Science Component. The academics, methodologists and practicing teachers of Dnipropetrovsk, focused on this subject in their reports. They managed to analyze the peculiarities of introducing new teaching methods into social science and historical system of school education in the light of updated state requirements.
Special emphasis was made to the use of innovative learning technologies, an example of which can be an interactive textbook on world history, which is developed by Tkuma Institute. About it and other projects of Tkuma Institute Dr. Leonova told in her speech in details.
Activities of Tkuma Institute and Museum Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine do not require presentation among the teachers.
